ISITEP-B.A.B.Ed. Special Education (Hearing Impairment) – Preparatory Stage is a four-year integrated teacher education programme approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). The programme prepares professionally qualified special educators to teach children with hearing impairment at the Preparatory Stage in inclusive and special education settings.
The curriculum integrates humanities, education, psychology, pedagogy, Indian Sign Language (ISL), assistive technology, and special education with practical training, school internships, and field-based learning experiences. Students develop competencies in inclusive teaching, communication strategies, classroom management, assessment, and individualized educational planning.
Graduates are equipped to work as Special Educators, Resource Teachers, Inclusive Education Coordinators, and Rehabilitation Professionals in government and private schools, special schools, NGOs, and rehabilitation institutions.
